Truckers Association South Africa calls for safety precautions during this Easter holiday

Truckers Association of South Africa (TASA) calls for safety on the roads, as it rolls out its road safety plans during this festive season. Mary Phadi, the President of the Truckers Association has called for drivers to be more alert and take necessary precautions when on the roads. ” It is important that our truck drivers are more careful on the roads all year round. We aim to reduce the road fatalities that were reported the previous year.” The Association notes with dismay the current road fatalities that have occurred due. “We are fully cognizant of the challenges that face our truck drivers. We have noted with dismay the recent fatalities on our roads due to a lot of challenges that our drivers face.” Said the President of the association.

The Association further condemns the criminals who target their personnel during the line of duty and calls for law enforcers to take a stern approach in assisting the Association in carrying out its work. ” It is unfortunate that drivers face a lot of challenges when on duty. Criminal acts are part of the daily challenges faced by our drivers, especially those who travel long distances. We urge law enforcement officials to help look into this matter.” She urged.
